Hobbies and Interests

I'm not going to write a long narrative about my personal interests here. Suffice it to say that I like music (rock, classical, & jazz), sports (college basketball, baseball, and golf), reading, thinking, and getting together with friends, concerts, theatre, technology, and good conversation.

You can read my writing on baseball, technology, politics, personal development, science, or the assumptions I make about life and the world elsewhere on this site.

Below you'll find some links to things I've done or participated in recently. I'm active in Toastmasters to improve my public speaking. It's a great organization, whether you're a beginner or a pro. Toastmasters also provides training in leadership and organization as well. You meet the most professional and interesting people at a Toastmasters club!

I've taken a number of courses in improvisational comedy (think Whose Line Is It, Anyway?, but not as funny :). You meet the most outrageous and gutsy people in an improv class!

And I've taken a variety of personal development courses. The best have come from Landmark Education and the Integral Institute. You meet the most committed and empathetic people in a personal development course!

Finally, I'm active in Singles Volunteers of DC. Since the only requirement is that you be unattached and available to date, it's a great place to meet other singles who want to make a difference in the world.

An 'Integral' Christmas Song

Chris Rosser is a talented east coast folk-rock singer and guitarist. Below is an MP3 version of Chris Rosser's "Christmas in the Ashram," a delightful song about the confluence of religions and holidays. I e-mailed Chris and he gave me permission to share this with my friends from Intregral Institute. Enjoy!

You can buy the album, The Holy Fool, which contains this song, here, or you can buy his individual songs at iTunes.
