Spam Overview

Spam is "...flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it." http://spam.abuse.net/spam/whatisspam.html. Spam has become an unwanted part of everyday e-mail. With this unwanted Spam there are several characteristics to look at, such as, the different types of Spam, ramifications of Spam, way people react to Spam, and issues surrounding Spam.

The word Spam came from the well-known food product of Spam made by Hormel. Spam was used for almost any occasion dealing with food preparation. Assessment

In the world of Email and newsgroups, Spam can be an annoyance and at times a certifiable threat to the normal functioning of an email server or an end user’s personal computer. There is a plethora of information concerning Spam ranging from policies for each ISP, each marketing company, and even the Government (local and federal). It is up to you the end user, and maybe at some point the actually sender to determine how you will proceed and deal with Spam.
